Together We Can Reverse the Curse of Hereditary Cancer.
Approximately 10% of cancers are caused by genetic changes passed down from parent to child. Inheriting one or more of the 50+ cancer causing gene mutations does not mean that a person will develop cancer. However, it does increase the likelihood of cancer developing.
Knowledge is power. By knowing your risk for developing cancer you can protect yourself through early detection screening, prophylactic surgery or other cancer prevention strategies. By sharing that knowledge with your family members, they too can protect themselves.— Changing the family history of cancer to one of triumph through proactive healthcare.
What we do
Did you know that over 90% of people who have cancer causing gene mutations and syndromes don’t know it? Sadly, many people keep the details of a cancer diagnoses secret from their family members. It is that silence that leaves all family members vulnerable to life threatening cancers.
Others may be aware of their family history of cancer but not know that there are ways to reduce or eliminate the risk of developing cancer themselves.
Knowledge is the most important tool to beat hereditary cancer— to strike cancer BEFORE it strikes you.
FFHC’s mission is to spread awareness about hereditary cancer and cancer prevention. Cofounders and sisters, Sheila Adams Gardner, Patricia Cifax and Jacinta Tatum are passionate about sharing their personal experience with hereditary cancer and how they have chosen to fight cancer and reverse the curse for generations to follow. They have shared their stories at the local and national level and created FFHC to expand their reach.
